The opportunity to share on a mom blog website has greatly impacted my life. I am thankful to Collin County Moms Blog and City Moms Blog Network for the opportunity.

Once a month I write a mom-focused piece.

It is a powerful way to connect moms. It continually inspires me.

Reasons to be a Contributor when you are a Blogger:

  1. Share with Others. As a contributor your voice is heard at scale. Blogger sites have huge reach and this is a wonderful way to give and share with a wider audience.
  2. Connect with bloggers. The blogger community is strong. It’s a society of creatives that have ideas, passion, and insight
  3. A Fresh Challenge Every Time. I love to push myself harder and I find being a contributor gives me a fresh challenge to keep up with the group.
  4. Collaboration. Connecting with other bloggers and co-blog on a topic. It’s great to have different perspectives on hot topics.
  5. Credibility. As a contributor you have a larger brand to represent. This is a huge honor and I show it proudly.

Below are my mom blog topics I have contributed as a contributor on Collin County Mom Blog. You can read my posts below!

“Sarah, how well do you know your heart health?”

Do I have heart disease

Hi my name is Sarah,

I’m 27 years old.

Happy. Life incredibly fulfilled between my son and what I believe to be a healthy active lifestyle working.

I was recently asked- how well I know my heart. Well, I have a huge heart! Hello!

“No- how well do you know your heart… health.”

Oh. Um. Hmm. I’ve never been asked that before.

I'm healthy, right?

In the 27 years I have been on this planet- I have never once thought about my heart health. Zero. Not once.

I’d like to say I am health conscious. I think I live a fairly healthy lifestyle. Though, I’ll admit, I thoroughly indulge in ALL foods. No restrictions. Chicken fried steak with EXTRA gravy is a favorite of mine. I am a routine Starbucks drive-thru customer and proudly have maintained my gold card status.

Day-to-day I feel good. No concerns.

Recently my dad shared with me he got his heart checked. For the first time, I realized this is a “thing”. People go and get their hearts checked once they hit a certain age.  He also shared he has little bit of plaque in one of his arteries. Plaque? What is that? Concerning?

I did a little bit of googling around and I’m ready to dig deeper and find out for myself:

is health genetic or nutrition

Questions:

How is my heart?
What exactly is heart disease and how does it happen?
Is heart disease genetic and if so, how far away am I from this disease?
Any stats of how many people have beginning stages and don’t know it?
Is age truly a factor?
What’s the best lifestyle to live for my heart?
How much of a risk is my son to heart disease?
What kind of preventive measures should I be taking?

How well do you know your heart health?

Well, this is something I’m willing to explore and document my mini journey on Instagram Story and uploading to my Facebook page. Part 1.

I learned I have a family history of heart problems and thankful I can find out ways to prevent while I’m young enough to make some changes if I need to.

Follow my journey and let me know what you think and..
..how well do you know YOUR heart?
