What Happens When You and Your Fiancè Wear Matching Pants?
You take it to Instagram. And you have a Who Wore It Better competition.

It was a Saturday. I made it a point to start my Instagram story off strong with an #ootd
And then he walked in. Wearing the same pants.
We made coffee and laughed. We walked the bulldog. I mimicked what people might think of us as we entered public territory on Insta story.
Nick: “We should play a game of Who Wore It Better”
Sarah: “Accepted.”

We take any and all opportunity to be in competition with each other. And so the competition began.
We posted our competing pictures and off we went.

We polled our Instagram friends @socialwithsarah_
Immediately voted poured in for Nick.
I decided to take this competition to the street, welcoming any and all votes from bystanders.

I asked our first encounter, the Sandwich kid from Bread Zeppelin. And unanimously everyone in Bread Zeppelin agreed. Sarah.
We were head to head, Instagram voting continued for Nick.
More. Votes.

I was on a roll. And clearly, onto something with public voting.
We continued on our way through stores.
Wearing our matching pants and in some way, turning heads.

We landed to the Motherland. Costco. Where the matching pants were born.
We immediately recognized others wearing the SAME pants. Glorious.
More votes.

We asked more bystanders. Even the food sample ladies.
The competition continued.

We posed in the pants. More votes.
And finally.

The votes were in. Watch video in the beginning of this blog post to see the winner announced.

Why to Use Social Media in 2018? Because it is where the bulk of where today’s attention is.
I recently heard an amazing podcast by GaryVee. Social Media is a Game Changer. My ears perked up immediately.
I use it- Mainly Facebook and Instagram. This podcast was beyond interesting to me and inspired this blog post.
How to Use Social Media for the Most Return in Marketing
- Inspired by Gary Vee Podcast
- Figure out what you are going to sell and make sure you believe in it.
- Give it away for Free. Give more than you take.
- Buy Facebook Ads because it’s cheaper than other advertising avenues. But don’t use it for sales immediately. Use it to build brand loyalty.
- Facebook is a branding platform, put out valuable content.
- Put out content at the lowest possible cost.
Use the following steps:
- Build Brand.
- Create Awareness- Use a video or something to capture attention and give value.
- Opportunity will be created long term and then you can move into the sale.
- Influencer marketing works. Gather influencers and create a movement. “everyone is talking about you”
- Figure out if you are best at writing, talking, or charismatic enough for video. And triple down on your strengths.
Do this and you will WIN with Social and Content
- Pay attention
- Deploy patience
- Deploy long term thinking
- Start selling something you believe in
- Sell something at a price that is valuable to the market in a competitive set
- Bring more value
- Be on top of where people are.
- Be current
- Be everything and good things will happen
- Don’t waiver. If you do you will fail.
